Phil Sheridan and His Army

Every fan and follower of George Armstrong Custer should read this excelent study of the man who sent him into danger so many times. It is really a well-done and diverse book, including much detailed research about Custer in both the Civil War, and later in the campaigns against the Plains Indians in both Kansas and the Norther Plains where Custer and his men died.

Phil Sheridan was a sociopath who wanted to murder the battered remnants of Lee's army just before the surrender. His bloodlust was later satisfied when he was turned loose on the American Indian.

This book is detailed and well researched. It covers Sheridan's entire career and and is not boring or over detailed.
